I know exactly how you feel because I’ve been exactly where you are.
I know that the world can be incredibly lonely for single women, and it’s tempting to stay in your comfort zone and wait for perfect opportunities instead of risking heartbreak by taking chances.
I know it’s nice to dream about meeting the perfect man who will sweep you off your feet and make all your dreams about love come true.
Sadly, I also know that a mindset like that can only lead to an even lonelier life, because there are no perfect opportunities.

It’s also perfectly normal to have dating preferences and specific qualifications for the kind of man you want to end up with.
But you shouldn’t stop there.
You can’t just make a list and call it a day. Waiting by your window for someone who checks all the boxes to show up will just make you a passerby in your own story.
Worse, it can turn your dreams into nothing more than impossible fantasies.
You want to meet Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome? Well, you’ll have to lace up your boots and go to where all the tall, dark, and handsome men can be found.
Who knows? They may have just been waiting for single women like you to show up.
The Best Things in Life Don’t Come off the Shelf

More than being proactive and looking for him yourself, you also have to understand that you will not find the love of your life wrapped up in a little bow. He will not be the answer to all of your prayers.
And he will not be without faults.
Unlike in the movies, the man most single women will want to spend the rest of their lives with will have flaws. He will be annoying and stubborn and sometimes even difficult to stand. He will be unequivocally human.
Because the perfect man won’t be perfect at all.
But if you play your cards right, you will get to know that man and eventually learn how to make his imperfections fit yours. You will find out that he’s also been looking for you.
In time, you will both realize that growing and changing together is far better than anything perfection can ever hope to give.
Not Taking Risks Is the Biggest Risk of All
Love is a gamble, that much I know.
For a lot of single women, there are even more risks and dangers than simple heartache, so no one will fault you for wanting to take your time. For being scared and preferring to wait for things to happen to you.
But even in fairy tales, people need to make choices.
And sometimes, the choice is between crossing your fingers in hopes that your perfect man will find you exactly where you are and braving the world to find him yourself.
