Let’s Get You a Date in 2022
Since it’s the middle of the year, I think it’s high time we find you a date. You can’t keep waiting for the right person at the right time. You need to go out, seize the day, and search for love.
It can be scary if it’s your first time finding a date, but you don’t have to worry about it. There are plenty of tips and tricks to improve your chances of finding a potential partner. Luckily for you, I made a list to get you a good date without stressing out.
Before you start dating, it’s best to remember that this is the process of finding a commitment — dating isn’t the commitment itself. The process includes figuring out if you’re compatible or if you have chemistry.
This list that I made is only a few tips to guide you through the process. It’s still up to you how you can make these tricks work to find that special someone. The first tip to start our list is quite simple — putting yourself out there.
#1 Put Yourself in the Spotlight
As I said, you can’t stay on the sidelines forever. Waiting in the shadows and looking at every other person in the spotlight will make it impossible for you to find a date. It’s time for you to step into the spotlight and make other people notice you.
Don’t be afraid if people start coming to you instead of the other way around. If anything, that’s the best thing that can happen. Spend your time asking questions and screening your potential partners. The best part is going at your own pace.
#2 Off to the Bar!
It might come as a shock to most people, but traditional dating methods can and are still working in 2022. One dating method is going to the bar and looking for someone that catches your eye.
However, it’s not going to be easy. It is called traditional dating for a reason. Going to the bar and getting rejected or waiting for someone to come along can take time. But if you have no problems with that, then go for it.
Traditional dating methods appeal to people in their mid-30s as it’s a slow and relaxed pace. Generations younger than that often opt for online dating because of its accessibility and first-timer-friendly nature. Go for whichever you feel most comfortable with.
#3 Get on Your Phone
Believe it or not, you can find your potential partner online regardless of age. Online dating apps and websites help you find people you normally wouldn’t meet in your daily routine.
Think of it as a virtual matchmaker that sets you up with people in your area based on your mutual interests. You can even check if there are people who are also interested in you halfway around the world.
The world is your oyster, and almost eight billion people are in it. Who knows? Your potential life partner might be somewhere in Colombia. The only limit you have for dating is your willingness to open yourself to a new world.
#4 Hiring a Matchmaker
Did you know? Hiring a matchmaker increases your chances of finding someone compatible with you. A matchmaker uses its network to find singles who match your preferences and interests.
Plenty of high-status individuals hire matchmakers because it’s time-saving, convenient, and easy, and its success rates are higher compared to online dating.
The general success rate of a matchmaker in 2022 is 87% — the highest success rate in modern times. If you want the best chance to find a date that’s almost 100% compatible with you, you should hire a matchmaker.
#5 Go Through Your Network
If you think hiring a matchmaker is too costly, you can try asking your friends and family to set you up with someone. You can also try asking colleagues from work or people you play sports with. The point is to build a network and spread the word that you’re looking for someone to date.
There are two good things you can get out of this. One, it builds your social circle, allowing you to meet more people, and two, the people you’re asking are trustworthy. You’re more likely to meet someone from a friend than on your own.
#6 Knowing Your Preferences and Standards
Most people don’t realize that there is a huge difference between standards and preferences when it comes to dating. A good example in situations like this involves a car.
Standards mean the essentials needed to maintain a relationship. For a vehicle, it might be four wheels, side mirrors, gas, and other things you need to make it move. Preferences are the things you’re looking for that will help smoothen things when dating.
It could be wanting an air-conditioned car or the car you’re looking for is a sports car. Standards are what you need, and preferences are what you want. Knowing the difference can greatly help you narrow down your options when looking for a date.
After all, mutual interests will help you build a connection, but red flags might mean a toxic relationship in the future.
#7 Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C
Even if you haven’t found a date, it can’t hurt to prepare for one. Having plans means being thoughtful about your future date. It is pretty attractive when someone makes an effort to show their interest in you.
I recommend making three options for your dating plans. That way, you can easily work out what they’re looking for on a date. Do they want to go out hiking? Maybe they’d like dinner on a nice evening? What if they wanted to have fun and go out bowling or clubbing?
Be prepared. It’s both attractive and thoughtful, and it saves time. You can have more time to prepare your clothes instead of wearing shorts and sandals. I humbly beg you not to wear shorts and sandals on a first date. Jeans and shoes are better. No shorts.
Dating Evolves
There’s a new dating trend or technique made every year. If you’re planning on finding a date anytime soon, you should take notes from the list above. Whether you’re actively finding a date or going at your own pace, it can’t hurt to be too prepared.
So, are you excited? I am! It’s not every day someone like you comes along wanting to know more about finding love. It makes me even happier to realize that dating is still alive in 2022. Let’s get you a date.
