How a Couple Found Each Other through a Matchmaking Website

I am not just helping one client meet his perfect match; I get to witness different love stories unfold as hundreds of my clients meet the woman of their dreams.

And until now, this story between a Filipina woman and an American man is one of the best love stories I have ever witnessed.

The Love Story of Mayang and Henry

Ten years ago, Filipino women seeking foreign partners needed to go to Internet cafes and pay 12 pesos per hour to use a computer. And in one of these Internet cafes was where Mayang embarked on a journey to find her would-be-husband.

Mayang is a shy type of woman. She is 25 years old, and she’s never had a boyfriend. Even with some encouragement from her friends, she could never motivate herself to gain some confidence to talk to the men in her area.

One time, a friend of hers recommended online dating.

She was hesitant about it at first. Instead of using 20 pesos from her daily allowance, she told herself that she should save it for her family.

However, after reading some testimonials from the matchmaking website that her friend recommended, she motivated herself to create a dating profile.

“It’s all or nothing,” she said when she relayed her story.

After a while, she found someone. And whenever she was done with her job as a clerical aide in their barangay hall, she always went to the nearest computer shop to talk to the only man that caught her eyes — Henry.

Unlike Mayang, Henry is an extroverted man. He has a lot of friends within his community and even at his job. Everyone just likes his bubbly personality. However, there was something missing in his life.

When he told his friends about this, they recommended that he get back into the dating pool. After a year, however, he got tired. He didn’t think he was compatible with any of the women he dated.

This is where he thought of online dating.

Since he is working in the Information Technology industry, this is not new to him. He just never thought that he would try it out of frustration and longing.

Regardless, he created a dating profile on a matchmaking website, and there he found the woman that fulfilled the longing in his heart — Mayang.

After two years of chatting and video calling, they both found themselves completely in love. They had challenges in their long-distance relationship, but they were able to conquer it all.

After two years, Henry traveled to the Philippines and asked for Mayang’s hand in marriage in front of her whole family.

Until now, Mayang and Henry are happily married and are living in the Philippines with their two kids.

Love Is Waiting around the Corner
